I had a baby :D
Ruby Violet was born on Tuesday June 20th weighing in at 8lbs 9 oz and made it clear that she has things to do in this world!

She has long long fingers, has her daddy and mommy wrapped around them. She’s a knitter in the making!!!

She’s the MOST beautiful baby in the history of the universe. It’s true, it really is.

Of course her coming home outfit was hand knitted. Soaker by the amazing Aunt Mary, sweater/hat/booties combo by mom.

Daddy has already put her to work helping out in the yard.

Her birth wasn’t all we had hoped it would be. We had a beautiful labor at home, and then pushed for an excruciating 13 hours before we realized that she just was stuck and not coming out. So… we ended up having a c-section. It will take a while for us to get over it, but in the mean time… we’ve got these chubby cheeks to love on and this little feet to snorkel.

Thanks for the awesome blankie Amanda! :D

Still anybody’s guess June 14, 2006

So for today’s entry we’ll see who is still in the running for guessing correctly.

We had: 18 boys, 10 girls

9 people haven’t passed their date yet. One for today, two for the 15th, two for the 16th, two for the 17th, one for the 18th and one for the 20th.

And of course weight.. but i doubt I’ll go back and look at that ;)

Who knows who will be right……

So far.. Nobody. hee hee hee

Crafting! June 9, 2006

What happens when you take this….

and this…..

You get these!

So… I decided instead of buying thank you cards, I’d make some. So many other bloggers have made these scap fabric cards (and I’m too tired to link to them, so shoot me.) I thought I’d give it a shot. I think theirs turned out better than mine, but it was fast and fun! I made about 25 cards in 2 hours. Now of course I need to write in them and send them off…..

As you can assume, no baby. I’m still feeling great, so i’m not complaining… ask me again in a few days. Oh wait… don’t ask.

The birth blessing… June 5, 2006

Filed under: Uncategorized — mamazen @ 4:21 pm

There is a huge long post over at the baby blog that talks all about the blessing. It was an amazing, humbling, lovely event and I amazed by the love and blessings we were showered with.
I’ll be posting some of the lovely hand made and love filled gifts that we were given here… since many of them were knitted, it seemed to belong here, rather than there! (click for larger pix)

This is the sweetest sweater from my friend and knitting guru Myndi… love those clasps!

Nichol made this gorgeous, soft and machine washable baby blanket. Mmmmmm cotton!

My BFF De made these super cute and candy sweet blankets! Yum!!
My friend Jenmade this AWESOME nappy bag… The pattern is Amy Butler, and i love love love it!

Here is the changing pad to go with it. So soft!

Who doesn’t love a pinwheel blanket? Cotton, washable, and made by one of my knitting buddies, Amanda. Love it!

Alison made this GORGEOUS creative amazing baby memory scrap book, (all I have to do is add pix!) but I can’t get a decent pix of it, so you’re going to just take my word for it.

I’m afraid I’m forgetting something, but of course a pregnant woman forgets everything. I’ll leave you with a pix of the beads, one is strung for the baby, and one for me. They are lying on a table cloth that my Nana (my mom’s mom) embroidered a long time ago… Although she has passed on, and my mom was too sick to be there, their love and energy was all around me.
